When will this component be completed?
The project is scheduled for substantial completion in late 2028, with the grand opening planned for 2029.
What is the scope of this project?
This expansion will add 500,000 square feet of flexible event space, bringing the total facility to ~2.5 million square feet, including exhibit halls, meeting rooms, and a 100,000+ sq ft grand ballroom.
Will the existing convention center remain operational?
Yes, the existing convention center will continue to operate throughout the construction period. The new facility is being built on a nearby site to ensure no gap in service.
What sustainability features are included?
The expansion targets LEED Gold certification and includes solar panels, rainwater harvesting, energy-efficient systems, and bird-safe glass design to protect migratory bird populations.
